The Kiln is a cosy pottery studio in the heart of South Nowra, born from a dream to create a space where people can feel safe, expressive, and free to be creative.

More than just a pottery studio, The Kiln is a warm and welcoming place to slow down, get a little muddy, and leave the worries of the world at the door. It’s a space designed for creativity, connection, and calm — where you can try something new, make something by hand, and enjoy the simple therapy of working with clay.

I’m Jason Martin, founder of The Kiln. For me, pottery has always been more than making objects. It has been a form of creative expression, a grounding practice, and a way to reconnect with myself. My dream was to build a studio that could offer that same feeling to others — a place where people feel encouraged, inspired, and completely welcome, no matter their experience.

I’ve been working professionally in ceramics for the past five years and teaching for most of that time. My inspiration comes from shapes, textures, and techniques gathered from near and far, all brought back into the studio and shared in a way that feels approachable, relaxed, and fun.
